Training of QA officers and representatives of study programs for preparation of SER

 

On 14h and 15th February project management team of ESABIH project organized practical training of representatives of study programs, which are selected for pilot project, and QA coordinators of all eight public Universities in BH. Seminar was lead by three experts from EU, Prof Andre Govaert ,and Romain Hulpia and Mrs Klara De Wilde from VLHORA and by Prof Bokonjic from University of East Sarajevo. Seminar was organized at University of Mostar and total of 50 participants took part on this seminar. Representatives of study programs were selected by the coordinators of Universities.
Seminar started with welcome speech of Marijana Bandic Glavas form University of Mostar, who hosted this seminar. Prof Govaert welcomed seminar on behalf of contractor institution and Prof Bokonjic welcomed participants on behalf of the Consortium of the project. He presented agenda of the meeting and also main project outcomes and activities.
After introductory remarks, Prof Hulpia presented expectations of chairman about commission. He gave to all participants some useful suggestions and tips what they should expect when commission comes for site visit. He clearly emphasized what is the minimum of criteria, which should be fulfilled to successfully pass external evaluation. He also explained different between un-sufficient and sufficient criteria and other things. His presentation was a good introduction for presentation of SER of study programs.
After this representatives of each selected study program presented their SER. During last meeting in East Sarajevo, representatives got an assignment to work on introduction and chapter 3, 5 and 6 of their self/assessment reports according to criteria and indicators accepted by project consortium and HEA. So they presented who is responsible for SER at their institutions, how staff and students were involved in preparation of report, organizational and historical context of the study programme, quality and quantity of staff, means and facilities and quality assurance system. Most participants during their presentation very well presented their reports. Those presentations were good introduction for discussion. After set of presentations form each University we organized big discussion led by prof Govaert and prof Hulpia.
In the end of first working day we had presentation from Karen Roberts from Council of Europe BH about qualification templates. Project management team is planning to introduce qualification template during preparation of chapter two (curriculum) of SER. We invited Mrs Roberts to come to our seminar due to the fact that Council of Europe in BH run a project during which they proposed this template. This template is very useful for presentation of final outcomes of study program. Day was finished with discussions about introduction of the template into practice.
